A series of specially commissioned site-specific short plays by the next generation of theatre writers, directors and actors, performed in every nook and cranny of Ovalhouse.

Director:
Katharine Armitage
Katharine studied English Literature at the University of Manchester. She currently works as a production assistant at Arcola theatre.
Directing includes: The Pillowman (University of Manchester); The Love of the Nightingale (Edinburgh Fringe Festival); The Taming of the Shrew, As You Like It, The Tempest, A Midsummer Night's Dream (Blue Hutch Theatre Company); Noises Off (Pearshaped) and for radio The Hearing and Happy New Year (Fuse FM).
Assistant directing includes: Uncle Vanya (Belgrade/Arcola); The Bible (Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre); The Painter and The Cradle Will Rock  (Arcola).



Cast includes:
Kassidy Chaplin
Kassidy trained at Identity Drama School and now attends an Industry Film School 'Translantic Films' in which he trains intensively every week in the Professional Group. Kassidy Chaplin has been freelancing for 3 years and has won several achievement awards during his time. Kassidy is also a talented artist and writes music, poems and spoken word in his spare time. His theatre credits include a portrayal of Smith in 'Dunsinane' at the Hampstead theatre accompanied by the Royal Shakespeare Company, Nigerian Security Chuck in 'Edem' at Jermyn Theatre, Cass in 'Who Let The Dogs Out' at the Soho Theatre, amongst his favourite and first role which was the lead as Dr Astrov in 'Uncle Vanya' at the Young Vic Theatre, Brendad in tempted fate produced by Media Trust Shown on the Community Channel, Steve in 'Oneway' produced by Faith productions.

Writer: Lara Stavrinou
Lara Stavrinou works for the London Theatre department at the Arts Council and spends her free time writing, producing and facilitating youth outreach projects. Lara has had work on at the Edinburgh Fringe and at scratch nights at Theatre503 and Hampstead Theatre. She wrote for Ovalhouse's Truth About Youth project, where her work was seen in 'Bussin' It' on a bus in Brixton and has worked with Green Stage Theatre Company to create sustainably themed work. Lara has also worked as an assistant dramaturge on an RSC new writing project for young people. She has competed the the Royal Court's Young Writers Programme and was then invited back for the Studio group, for which she is currently completing a play.

Director: Nicole Ingemann 
Nicole has come from a background in Devised theatre in Norway. She has just graduated from Rose Bruford College of Speech and Drama on the BA Directing Course. Her recent credits include Contact by Alice Birch, After Liverpool by James Saunders, Coffee by Edward Bond, Prefect Congregation a devised piece, as well as various assistant director roles during the last year, including assisting on Like Enemies of The State at Pleasance Islington and assisting Ben Evans at Oval House theatre on Pandora’s Box. She is currently in the process of developing a new international company exploring the relationship between narrative and visual storytelling.

Dexter Banson-Braimoh has been involved in various productions in His 3 years of Acting, playing Walter in "A Raisin In the Sun" by Lorraine Hansberry, lead role in play " Unfinished women cry in no man's land while a bird dies in a gilded cage" by Aishah Rahman and more recently was involved the a 5 piece play for the young writers at Oval House Theatre as well a series of short films to name a few. Dexter continues to enhance and develop his craft with training from the Identity Drama School and The Real Drama Company.

Writer: Frances Busche
Frances Bushe is a young London playwright, whose ‘stiletto sharp observations’ of life in the capital city permeate her writing. Her most recent play ‘The Site’ won The Hampstead Theatre ‘Write A Play’ competition. and went on to be produced at The Roundhouse, Chalk Farm. She has also recently written under the direction of Inua Ellams at The National Theatre, London. This spring she completed the Lyric Young WritersProgramme under Olivier Award winning playwrights Simon Stephens and Bola Agbaje. Prior to this she completed The Royal Court Young Writers Programme, with Leo Butler as her mentor. 'Give me Everything Tonight' is part of  'Around the House' and explores the dilemmas of one young carer and his girlfriend. 






Director: Ellie Browning
Ellie trained at Middlesex University. She is currently an Associate Director with verbatim theatre company Look Left Look Right and Associate Director with The Malleables. Ellie was previously Resident Assistant Director at The Finborough Theatre, 2009 - 2010. Recent directing credits include The Love Project (Richmix), Change (Arcola), You May Go Now - A Marriage Play (Finborough) and The Hide (Lyric Hammersmith Square) which she assistant directed on.

Writer: Ed Baranski
Ed is a twenty-two year old writer, recently graduated from university. Ed's involvement in 'Around the House' marks his first piece of writing to be produced in London. Previously, Ed has had three full-length scripts performed at theatres in Oxford: The Local at the Burton Taylor Studio (17-21 Nov, 2009); Not For The Faint Hearted at The Keble O’Reilly Theatre (26-30 Oct, 2010); and Blood Runs Thicker, at The Burton Taylor Studio (14-18 June, 2011). Ed has also written a 24-hour play, a short film and a radio piece. He is a writer for sketch comedy group Leave the Biscuit and a member of theatre company Oneohone.









Director: Thomas Martin
Tom Martin is a theatre director and performance maker based in London. As co-Artistic Director of Littlewit, he looks at new writing in new ways, and as Lead Artist of Barometric he makes live work that is 'difficult, not impossible.' He has directed and presented work at BAC, Exeter Phoenix, Roundhouse, Riverside Studios, Forest Fringe, Basement Brighton, Rosemary Branch Theatre, CPT, New Wolsey Studio, and Stoke Newington International Airport. In 2012 he was named as one of the finalists for the JMK Award for promising young directors.

Tango Mwaza
Tango is an Actor, Dancer, Spoken WordArtist and Rapper, a zambian born unique artist looking to make a mark in the entertainment industry, he's trained in various well known dance companies, performed on breaking convection, stratford circus and a few festivals here and there as well as being in the Brits Awards 2010, acting wise he has performed at the actors theatre, oval house and stratford circus, he also played a part of a soldier in documentary called the Black Battalions WW2 and he performed on stage of the monologueslam where he won the 1min round, Tango real name Ntonga Mwanza is hoping to take part in more films and theatre productions as well as creating more artistic pieces of his own and gaining more experience in the entertainment industry.

Toby de Angeli 
I am a writer from the South East of England who likes Hip Hop and Folk. I have written for radio and theatre and perform spoken word stories. I collaborate a lot with Nichol Keene, we sometimes go by the name of Fitzgerald and you will always find us in the Kitchen at parties.





Nichol Keene 
I am a writer and artist from London. I write and perform spoken word stories, regularly collaborating with Toby de Angeli, we sometimes go by the name of Fitzgerald. I am also part of Elephant, a writers collective supported by the Roundhouse.
